IN SINGAPORE |
Project under execution:
Public utilities Board (PUB),the water, sewerage and drainage
authority in singapore, has many kilometers of pipes ( different
sizes and different material) to maintain and renew.
Up to 2003, the main technique was CIPP (Cured In place Pipe)
which application is not recommended for non gravity pipes.
For one of the on-going project (2,5 km of 535 mm to rehabilitate,
twin pressure main for sewer), SADE-CGTH has proposed a
competitive alternative using Swagelining technique.
Our experienced staff (SADE is undertaking Swagelining
projects in Franc since 1992) have design and installed
a OD 520 mm, PE 100, SDR 26.
The reduction of Pit numbers, the advantages of PE pipes
and its related fittings or accessories (tee-off, flange
adaptors, bends) helped to perform this important project.
Our local employees of the company were trained to this
technique, and succeeded in achieving in good conditions
this project, for the satisfaction of PUB.
Convinced by the technique, PUB issued a few months later
a second project of rehabilitation (Water and Pressured
Main Sewer) allowing Swagelining to be proposed.
The process consist
of:
New tender from Powergas allow as well this technique to
be proposed.
Technical details:
- Twin Mains : existing asbestos cement pipes OD 535 mm,
working pressure 6,5 bars
- Two lines of around 1,25 km each
- Seven Pits have been excavated, each of them wide enough
to carry out the two lines relining
- PE lining PE 100 , SDR 26 , OD 520 mm
- Connections to existing, or inside pit carried out using
flange adaptors and steel flanges
- Bends in PE 100 welded in manufacture
- Hydrostatic test carried out for the full length, including
connexions
